CRM Facts & Myths

Perhaps you've heard that "CRM isn't just software...it's a business strategy…cross-functional commitment…factors beyond technology…appropriate strategic alignment…attention to organizational and operational issues… trademarked implementation methodology…etc.”

With Microsoft CRM, implementing CRM is no longer rocket science. Here are some other facts and myths about CRM:
Myth
Fact
Your staff is not capable of implementing CRM and you must pay $200/hour to a CRM consultant. You and your staff know your business better than anyone. With appropriate training, you can implement and manage your Microsoft CRM system.
Service costs (installation, implementation, customization, training, etc.) should be 5-8 times the cost of software. Most software resellers make most of their profits on services. They have expensive resources on staff that must be billable as much as possible. They typically look for CRM projects to deliver service revenues of 5-8 times the software cost. This is no longer necessary with Microsoft CRM.
You immediately need complex functionalities such as automated sales processes, forecasting and funnel management, service escalation, etc. You immediately need basic account and contact management integrated with your Outlook calendar and email. When this is working and everyone is comfortable using the system, advanced features can be evaluated, justified and implemented.
You need every bell and whistle ever thought up in CRM applications. You need about 10% of the functionality offered by most CRM systems.
The technology stack required to implement Microsoft CRM is prohibitive. Microsoft CRM can be implemented quickly and affordably delivering business results today and providing the foundation for a long-term IT strategy.
